Join Monet to Matisse curator Lisa Small from the Brooklyn Museum as she takes a closer look at some of the works in the exhibition and offers a lively overview of the avant-garde movements that defined modern art in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries in France.

The evening will begin with wine, beer, and small bites, then Ms. Small’s talk and question and answer session, and ends with a book signing of the exhibition catalogue: French Moderns: Monet to Matisse 1850-1950. The Cummer Shop will have the catalogue available for purchase the night of the event.
