Join the Bosnian-born, Florida-based painter Amer Kobaslija as he talks about his various projects, focusing on his recent series inspired by his life in Florida. Kobaslija paints the local scenery, along with portraying the people he encounters along the way. As someone who is both outsider and insider, Kobaslija renders a unique vision of the place, epic and intimate at once. He chronicles luminous sunsets and flourishing panoramas, spring-fed rivers and murky swamps, landfills rising over flatlands, and on to vibrant animal and human characters (native or alien), populating these lands.
