Impressionism and the French Academy – The great flowering of Impressionism, originally considered radical and revolutionary, will be examined in the paintings of Monet, Renoir and Degas. The museum’s Return from the Harvest and Young Love by William-Adolphe Bouguereau, seen as the “quintessential salon painter of his generation,” will serve as backdrops to the “New Painting.”
