From the Rococo to Neoclassicism – Join Cummer Amelia and Dr. Debra Murphy for a lecture exploring the transition from the lighthearted Rococo represented by such artists as Boucher and Fragonard to the high-minded seriousness of the Neoclassical style seen in the canvases of Jacques Louis David. Works from the Cummer Museum such as pieces from the Meissen collection and paintings by Charles-Joseph Natoire and René-Théodore Berthon will be considered in the context of this time period.
